What do we teach?

We have developed  our own curriculum based on own experience, and teach from the books our teachers have written covering grammar, vocabulary and communication for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. The books have been used for several years, and have proved their value. During this time we improve and update them to meet our students' needs and incorporate new suggestions from teachers. This dynamic process ensures that our Hungarian language classes are always relevant and up-to-date. At the same time we also endeavor to make our language lessons enjoyable, to create a friendly, encouriging atmosphere in our Hungarian language school.

In addition our books are recorded on CD-s to help you with pronunciation and learning process.

Artist Statement: Up Next

Social division grows by the minute, institutions never seem to operate as intended, and journalists scurry to find the next story while news anchors sing, “this just in” after hair and make up, then proceed to present a limited amount of information within the rushed time frame of four minutes and twenty eight seconds. Today, media largely influences social understandings of the world and the people in it.  The affect of quick media creates a distorted perspective of reality.  News anchors have a peculiar function. What is lost between the story and the story telling? Who is telling the story? Portraiture marks who has been noteworthy in society.

My portrait drawings of news anchors and commentators call in to question what it means to portray information that affect the way people are perceived through the media.  Some are gestural and rushed portraits on low quality construction paper, while others are printed lithographs on high quality paper.  This work of portraits with varying qualities and dimensions, question the hierarchy of represented perspectives. The portrait source material is provided through Internet news resources, a removed yet influential part of American culture that is abundant in opinion and varying perspectives.  This work addresses some questions that are worth contemplation. Who has the authority to speak and represent?   What is involved in reciting truth? What makes a portrait true or complete?
